Personal Property (Coverage C)

🏠 Home & Property

Your belongings — furniture, electronics, clothes, the whole “if I turned the house upside down” pile.

Personal property coverage — “Coverage C” — protects your belongings: furniture, electronics, clothing, kitchenware, and the rest of what fills your home.

It’s usually set as a percentage of your dwelling coverage (often 50–70%) and follows your stuff even away from home. Two things to watch: certain categories like jewelry, cash, and firearms have low special limits, and whether you’re paid replacement cost or actual cash value makes a big difference at claim time.

For valuables above the special limits, scheduling them individually gets you full agreed value and usually no deductible. A quick home inventory (even phone photos) makes any claim far easier.
