Medicare

🩺 Health

Federal health coverage for people 65+ (and some younger with disabilities). Comes in Parts A, B, C, and D — an alphabet worth learning.

Medicare is the federal health insurance program primarily for people 65 and older, plus some younger people with disabilities. It comes in parts, and learning the alphabet is half the battle.

Part A covers hospital stays and is usually premium-free; Part B covers doctors and outpatient care for a monthly premium; Part D covers prescription drugs. You can either add a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) to Original Medicare to fill its gaps, or choose a private Part C “Medicare Advantage” plan that bundles it all together, often with extras.

The choices you make when you first enroll can be costly to undo later, so it’s an area where guidance from a licensed agent genuinely pays off.

This is a friendly general explanation, not legal or policy language. Exact coverage depends on your policy, carrier, and state. 🤝
