Bodily Injury (BI)

🚗 Auto

The part of auto liability that pays for other people’s injuries when a crash is your fault.

Bodily injury liability is the part of your auto policy that pays for other people’s injuries when you cause a crash — their medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering, plus your legal defense.

It’s shown as two numbers, like 100/300: up to $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident. State minimums are often dangerously low — a single serious injury can generate bills far beyond a 25/50 policy, and anything above your limit comes out of your own pocket.

Carrying higher BI limits (and an umbrella on top) is one of the most important ways to protect your savings and future income from a lawsuit.

This is a friendly general explanation, not legal or policy language. Exact coverage depends on your policy, carrier, and state. 🤝
