Comprehensive (Other-Than-Collision)

🚗 Auto

Covers your car for the non-crash stuff: theft, fire, hail, vandalism, flood, and the classic surprise deer.

Comprehensive auto coverage pays to repair or replace your vehicle for damage from things other than a collision — theft, fire, hail, vandalism, falling objects, floods, and the classic run-in with a deer.

It’s subject to your deductible, and it’s separate from collision (which covers hitting another car or object). Lenders usually require both while you’re financing or leasing a vehicle.

If you own an older car outright, it’s worth weighing the premium against the car’s value — once a car is worth little, full physical-damage coverage may not pay off.

This is a friendly general explanation, not legal or policy language. Exact coverage depends on your policy, carrier, and state. 🤝
