Contractors GL — FAQs
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on trade, payroll/revenue, subcontracting, and claims history. Many small contractors see annual premiums starting a few hundred dollars; higher‑risk trades and higher limits cost more.
Can I add an Additional Insured and Waiver of Subrogation?
Yes — most policies allow AI (CG 20 10/CG 20 37) and Waiver endorsements, sometimes for a small charge. We’ll match your contract requirements when possible.
How fast can I get a certificate?
For standard accounts we frequently issue COIs the same day. Complex specs or new placements may take longer.
Does GL cover my tools or employees?
No — GL is for third‑party injury or property damage. Tools are insured by an Inland Marine/Tool Floater policy, and employees are covered by Workers’ Comp.
What’s the difference between ongoing and completed operations?
Ongoing operations refer to work while the job is in progress; completed operations applies after the job is finished and turned over. Contracts often require both.
