Program Description

The Outfitters & Guides Risk Purchasing Group program is designed to provide General Liability and Equipment & Contents (inland marine) coverage for outdoor operations engaged in eligible activities listed below. Ideal for guide services, rental operations connected to your own tours, and camps with limited lodging revenue.

  • Livery, shuttle or transport services (for your own operations)
  • Owned lodges/cabins (≤ 50% of total revenues)

  • Paddling/Paddleboarding (incl. SUP)
  • Retail Sales (≤ 80% of total revenues)
  • Shoreline sailing (< 1 mile from shore and ≤ 10% of revenues)
  • Skimboarding
  • Snorkeling (≤ 10% of total revenues)
  • Snowshoeing
  • Surfing
  • Windsurfing
  • Operations on Class I, II, III rivers and flatwater (guided / non-guided)

Percent thresholds apply to the total revenues of your operation.

Incidental Activities Included

The following incidental exposures are included when connected to a covered activity:

  • Retail sales of merchandise and equipment
  • Participation in food/beverage services
  • Athletic courts
  • Participation in demo days, trade shows or events (only for a designated covered activity)
  • Equipment rental for designated covered activities
  • Office exposures for covered activities
  • Motorized watercraft (< 250hp) used for a covered designated activity
  • Camping

Snorkeling and shoreline sailing must be < 10% of total receipts.

  • Stand-alone pontoon/boat rental

  • Watercraft/powerboats when testing, stunting, racing, practicing

Preliminary Underwriting Information Required

Provide the following 10 business days before the desired effective date:

  • Completed and signed enrollment form
  • Full premium payment (check or credit/debit card)
  • Certificates of insurance as required on the enrollment form

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you cover Class IV or V whitewater?

No. The program is limited to Class I–III rivers and flatwater (guided or non-guided).

Is Medical Payments included?

Medical Payments are excluded under this program.

Can I buy Equipment & Contents without General Liability?

No. Equipment & Contents must be purchased in conjunction with General Liability.

How should I value my gear?

All scheduled items must be insured to 100% replacement cost; no single item may exceed $5,000 in value.

Are snorkeling and shoreline sailing eligible?

Yes, when they account for less than 10% of total receipts and shoreline sailing remains within 1 mile from shore.
